^was it really necessary to bring up iraq in order to defend Nelly? I mean, really, Nelly? I mean, it’s fantastic that his music helped someone get through their tour of duty, but c’mon. popular doesn’t equal good, that’s for damn sure.

It’s weird, the Bay feels way more connected to the South and the Midwest than it does to LA, rapwise. I guess it goes back to the diaspora of black people and the way they came up from the South. Didn’t Mac Dre get killed in St. Louis?

[...] And, anyone here the new Nelly song, “Bay?” It’s a tribute to Spice 1, Too $hort, and E-40 done by Nelly … supposedly it’s getting heavy play on KMEL right now. Beats me though, I don’t have access to Bay Area radio here in Singapore, at least not for the next week. I got the MP3 though thanks to the wonders of piracy and the internet and the beat knocks incredibly hard.
