And Then There Was One

Geto Boys f/ 3-2 & Scarface – “Straight G-ing (Radio Mix)“
from Straight Gangstaism 12″ (Rap-A-Lot, 1994)
Here’s one that was requested a little while back and I finally got around to ripping.
On Till Death Do Us Part “Straight Gangstaism,” Face and Bushwick are nowhere to be found, instead it features just two verses – one from erstwhile Willie D substitute Big Mike and one from Lord 3-2. It’s basically a Convicts song on a Geto Boys album. When it was released as a single, though, a Scarface verse was added to the end, presumably because it’d be hard to push a Geto Boys record without any full time Geto Boys rapping on it. No idea where Bushwick was at, but here you go. Sorry about the pops and clicks. They will put some hair on the chest of your ipod.

Dope! Now I don’t have to rip my copy.
This beat was resurrected a third time on Big Mike’s first LP. Love that Bido funk.

Does this rip sound alright to everyone? I am fucking with a new setup as far as ripping vinyl and I’m feeling like it’s sounding kind of grimy. Maybe I am tripping though.

This is the ‘video version’ right? The Big Mike track that reused it was called “Coming on the Real” I think.
Thanks!

You deserve the Nobel Gangstaism Prize. Sorry, couldn’t help myself. Anyway, this is so awesome. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
