Juice Crew Reunion
@ A3C Festival.
Roxanne Shante f/ Biz Markie – “Def Fresh Crew“
from Def Fresh Crew 12″ (Pop Art, 1986)
Hopefully someone will drop a full review soon, as this video leaves a lot of questions unanswered. Were they not on stage together? Where was Kane? Seriously bloggers where you at?
Whatever, Biz & Shante performing “Def Fresh Crew” live would’ve alone been worth the cost of admission. At least I think that’s what they’re performing. I can’t hear a damn thing.

Marl came out got the crowd hyped…played some of his classics…
Craig G came out first…did a good job with unfamiliar songs. He brought out Killer Mike and Bonecrusher and had them do Neva Scared…which turned out to be the highlight of the show for me.
Shan came out and bombed…sounded/looked like an old man, wasted time hating on Rocko. Performed some new stuff that was wack as hell.
Biz came out…announced that Kane didn’t come because his high blood pressure was acting up. He was doing good, but looked winded. Brought out Shante to do some songs. She probably had the best performance among JC members. Biz got his breath back to finish his set, but was forgetting words and shit.
Marl crunk up the Symphony beat…but shit, Craig G was the only dude on the song there! Biz came out acting like he was gonna do everyone elses verses but was playing around…
Overall…it was fun to see it go down, but…honestly, eh, eh, eh…it was aight.
But, as a Killer Mike fan…hahaa, I am proud to say that my dude came to the Juice Crew “reunion” and stole the show.
There were hella cameras in the spot tho, so something (maybe professionally edited) is sure to surface soon.

I saw Biz and Shante do Def Fresh Crew in 87 at Rock City in Notts – a life-defining experience. Do their superannuated asses still cut in 20 years later? Not too sure

Maurice summed it up well. But, it was a novelty for me. Their age showed.
I had imagined that since G-Rap, Kane, and Ace weren’t there, that local rappers or that those in attendance (Posdnous, J-Live, Akil from J5, YZ, Diamond D, Killer Mike, Bonecrusher, etc.) would fill in their respective parts during the “The Symphony.” Heh.
No “Marley Scratch” or “He Cuts So Fresh.”
Shan rapping over dirty south beats.
Biz didn’t get on the turntables, thus he didn’t scratch with his stomach.
The highlight of the A3C was Lee Harvey Oswald. THEY KILLED IT.
