Off The Yezelbub

So deep in the recesses of my hard drive, I rediscovered a pdf of Andrew Broder’s infamous Noreaga Interview from Life Sucks Die Magazine. It finds Nore at his most absurd, discussing his love for full steezies and ecstacy and accusing Pharrell of being a “flagrino.”

Here’s just one of many highlights:

LSD- Optimist or pessimist?
N-[Pauses] Thugginest.

I hope nobody minds my republishing it here.

Now we just need to find the legendary Truehiphop.com Big Pun hamburger interview.

I think I memorized like half of that Pun interview, so maybe we could all just reconstruct it from our memories.

Pun needs steel girders to skateboard, that was my favorite part.

  2. Rues Says:

It’s written by Andrew Broder, of indie-turntable-rock group The Fog, and Sam Rosen. I doubt anyone at LSD would care about the reprint, but you could inquire at http://lordsofapathy.blogspot.com/.
At least a few of that crew put in work over there nowadays.
And that review really sucked. LSD was, all excessice nudity and sarcasm aside, one of the best graffiti magazines out in the late ’90s, just a shame it couldn’t have lasted longer.

    “And that review really sucked.”

I agree. That’s why I posted it. Well, that and the fact it’s the #1 google hit for life sucks die.

    Thanks for the info Rues…

[...] All we ask for is the opportunity… which is why it hurts my heart (though, admittedly, also makes me feel kind of badass) that this website is BANNED in China. [Cocaine Blunts and The Basketball Jones, sites of which I am a fan, are also banned.] A website called Great Firewall of China allows you to enter a URL and see if that site can make it’s way through the nation’s many “watch dog” rules and regulations concerning censorship of… well, pretty much everything. I encourage any and all website operators out there to see if your site is also banned, and then we can all collectively laugh at how ridiculous the Chinese government is. [...]

[...] Truth be told, I’m still bitter about China banning our site — a PG-13 rated site, mind you! — from it’s nation’s internet. The Chinese government could use a lesson in chilling out a little bit, and who better than the self-proclaimed “thugginest” (required reading, by the way; all praises due to Noz for digging that up) to show them the way, and throw a little grime on their censorship rules. Nore probably wouldn’t ask for much in return — some ramen noodles, a girl to give him head, and a desk to fit said girl underneath. [...]

I love the Nore era. He was in his prime then. Thank you for that! And is there any footage of this “What What: The Movie”???
