Video: Juelz Santana f/ Yelawolf – “Mixin Up The Medicine”
You’d think hip hop would spawn more Bob Dylan interpolations what with him having invented the genre and all.

December 10th, 2009 at 7:20 pm
yelawolf is easily the best part of this song. the g-side feature verse has me intrigued, too.
December 10th, 2009 at 8:54 pm
Dopeness. Wish Yelawolf would have gotten a verse, but still a very good song.
December 10th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
i was just listening to yelawolf’s djbooth.net freestyle the other day and wishing i had more than half a dozen songs with him involved and IMMEDIATELY thereafter i pulled up cbrap and saw the linked article with his past two mixtapes. both are fire, as is that new song with bun b; i can’t wait for trunk muzik to drop
December 10th, 2009 at 10:03 pm

December 10th, 2009 at 10:39 pm

December 11th, 2009 at 12:23 am
Yelawolf is the baaaadddeesssttt.. Only got into him 3 months ago.. Fuckin great cunt. a ‘pop the trunk’ video would be awesome.

Yelawolf is great. This is actually a really strong song, and I don’t normally care for Santana.
December 11th, 2009 at 1:43 am
haha. thousands of jolly ranchers?
December 11th, 2009 at 9:37 am
Can’t decide whether this is Juelz’s best solo single to date just ahead of Mic Check or not.
What i am sure of, is that Dipset > Dylan.

Yo MF….choke yourself!

at the raekwon show in atlanta last saturday, yelawolf jumped into the crowd to get buck on some guy who was booing him
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx4YYvPHA8k
right after that a guy stagedives and nobody catches him lol. action starts at about 2:00. i apologize for the shaky camera work
December 11th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
yelawolf hmmmm the name is throwin me off.
December 12th, 2009 at 4:45 am
Fuck that, Nick.
Hell Rell rapping over the phone from the bing interludes on D.I volume 1 > Blood On The Tracks.

shits piff. I forgot where I read about Freddie Gibbs being limited by placing himself beneath the oldschool southern hip hop gods, but I couldn’t agree more. Instead of payin homage to dudes, hes collabbng. Thoughts on I’m Good with Bun B?
Also, it dont get better than his lineabout lynyrd skynyrd and “no such thing as a free bird” on that joint with raekwon.

can’t say dylan did it without sayin Woody Guthrie did it first.
STHB is def similar to current hip hop (u dont even havta change the rythym or lyrics) n it hasa quicker pace than guthrie but still has earlier beginnings.

If we want to go way back, check this: Geeshie Wiley and Elvie Thomas playing “Pick Poor Robin Clean.” 1931, but Luke Jordan was playing the song before World War I.

“Get off my money and don’t get funny / ’cause I’m a nigga don’t cut no figure”
Gangsta shit, right? Which matches up with the place of the blues in society at that point. Luke Jordan’s version also has him threatening to fuck all of your female relatives in retaliation for you sleeping with his girl. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_SL3PgOj_8

well…. sorry guys but bob dylan has written over a thousand songs (most of which are insanely brilliant lyrically) but juelz has perception and you fools that are diss’n dylan have dick. I dare a fan of rap (which I am) to listen to “it’s alright ma I’m only bleeding” and say dylan doesn’t have skills on the mic!
