Live @ The Good Life Cafe (199?)
Omid is back again this month with five more great performances dubbed from LA’s seminal Good Life Cafe open mics. This was supposed to go up a few hours ago but I blacked out. It’s still Thursday night in Los Angeles.
Be sure to cop that This Is The Life doc if you haven’t yet…

That first A-Team song is great. I like that Acey in particular can chop it up without resorting to a billion “-ation” rhymes AND he still makes sense. I like his solo albums, but he’s so freaking abstract that I rarely reach for them.

Kid Bristol- you know that first Acey verse on that first A-Team recording you like so much above is off Acey’s first solo right? Maybe it’s time to give the man another chance.

On another note, I was just listening to Daara J, and I was wondering how we let the world white web decide fast rap is a white thing. If Project Blowed were based out Senegal, they would have blown the fuck up.

WHOEVER SAID THE WWW DECIDED FAST RAP WAS A WHITE THANG?

Dunno. I must have missed the internets that day.
Confusing calling this fast rap anyhow, since ppl already use that phrase for the late 80s rhyme-heavy higher bpm style stuff like “kool is back”, “letter to the better”, “raw”, etc.
