MAYNHOLUP!’s Ro Of The Week #31

Z-Ro – “Doin Just Fine”

from Cocaine (Rap-A-Lot, Coming Soon)

Wuss good maynn u alreddy kno whu it iz righ chea mayn yung MAYNHOLUP! in dis piece finna hit yall wit sum uv dat der Ro mayn nahm sayin.

Goin along wit de homie Noz’s SOME SHIT YOU NEVER HEARD week mayn ima give yall de wun new track off de new R-A-L sanctioned Cocaine disc mayn. Shoutouts ta de homie Iceberg Slim fa sendin dis joint mah way mayn, i bumped dis thowed lass nigh an i wuz vibin like a mafucka mayn!!

I feel like Ro makin mo country rap tunes deze days mayn, specially on Cocaine mayn. ‘Raw’ sounds like a classic Mike Dean joint mayn, ‘We Dont Speed’ fa sho, ‘Dont Be Like Me’ an mo mayn got dat country sound ta dem mayn (an u alreddy kno Ro cookin up a country rap tune wit de boi Killer Mike). Dis song righ here, ‘Doin Just Fine’ migh juss be dirtiess uv all deze doe.

An dass juss de beat mayn. Listen how Ro flips de ‘Im A Gangsta” hook dat he also used on de Billy Cook joint. Ro’s voice alwayz been somn dat seperated him from mortal rappers mayn. De range he’s got iz incredible (listan ta hiz adlibs az de beat play out) an hiz melody game iz so nice he can kill it juss by juss repeatin hiz old lines in a different contexx mayn. An den when he raps iss over mayn, his spacing can’t be fuckd wit. “Trynna stack my paper taller den a Great Dane/Joseph McVey ain’t savin no bitches cuz he ain’t got a cape mayn!”. Ah lawd!

So hopefully mayn dis Rother new ta yall mayn. Enjoy dat shit mayn, u kno im alreddy on mah weekend mayn steddy gittin paid righ now ta listan ta Ro an fuck round on de net mayn beassss mode. Iss mah birthday Sunday yall! U alreddy kno how iss gon be goin down mayn, ahm gon be fienin on Coors Light like well early mayn befo i tear it up wit de homiez Kobe an Blueface at de Vikings game mayn! 6-0 i promis yall!

  3. So what’s the official word on this Cocaine/Heroin business? I heard somebody say Heroin was still coming out. Is that true, or is RAL just repackaging Cocaine?

  4. noz

Amazon lists the release date as:

    Audio CD (October 27, 2009)
Original Release Date: November 24, 2009

so idk wtf to make of that.

  8. SMM

amazon lists them as both coming out the same day,

  9. accordin ta Iceberg mayn, dis iz off de official, rap-alot stamped ‘Cocaine’ CD. As far az anywun can tell iss replacin Heroin for de time being. It all sounds like whut Heroin wuz supposed ta be so I think dis de case, not dat i wuddint luv sum mo Z-Ro shit mayn

    Very good point.

ABN and Crack were returns to form after the cobbled together prison album years post-Let The Truth Be Told, but he’s definately found that country-funk again this year.

This tune is fucking crazy. He needs to get his Boosie on and shoot some ‘hood videos, though.

  11. Cocaine is also a 2 disc mixtape that DJ Drama Queen put together and released about a week ago. Rap-A-Lot ended up making it an official release under the same name, condensing it down to one CD.

It’s different content than Heroin is supposed to be. RAL says that Heroin will still be released in November, however Ro is saying that they are not going to be release it. At least, this is all what I’ve been told by someone in the RAL camp. Take from it what you will.

  12. MF’s right, Ro really needs to start knocking out some hood videos to go with this new wave of great music. It’s actually quite depressing to think that nobody’s on his arse to make another ‘I Found Me’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRQ3cE-pRwU).
