If you watch carefully you can actually pinpoint the exact moment that the competitive rap circuit (which always kinda sucked, to be honest) was completely whitewashed of any modicum of quality rapping and vaguely rhythmic stand up comedy stepped in to take it’s place. PEACE eventually lost to Eyedea.

I think the sad thing is that as a part of Subtle, Themselves, Why? and as an overall head of the Anticon Consortium, Dose has done some incredibly amazing things with hip-hop, especially last year’s Subtle record. I’d never seen him battle before and I only heard about his 1997 meeting with Eminem in passing, but this is a totally different Adam Drucker than I expected to see. Unless this is some other Dose One.

When Dose still made hip hop he made some great hip hop. Jonny, you’re a jerk, there’s a difference between being influenced by Freestyle Fellowship and biting Freestyle Fellowship. Your hatred is pathetic. Sure Anticon has some fans who are insane and deluded but so does Jay-Z or just about any other rapper. It should be acknowledged that a legitimate hip hop fan can legitimately appreciate at least some of Dose’s music, and… ah fuck it, fuck you too:).

Cocksucker is standning there swinging on the FF style and he calls P.E.A.C.E. a biter? The people in the crowd bought that shit. My hatred is legit. Suckers should have boooed him off the stage. Judges should have laughed at him. Eyedea didn’t belong on the stage with P.E.A.C.E., and then he wins.

Are you kidding me? It’s a fucking battle. Misrepresenting your opponent is par for the course. I’m quite sure that Eyedea and all the “biters” know exactly who flipped the style first. He’s getting in a dig on the fact Bone Thugs blew up and no one knows who PEACE is. And the crowd going nuts is evidence it was a dope line — that’s what you’re trying to do in a live performance.

So what FF (or any other artist’s) record was Dose biting when he made the Them record? Deep Puddle Dynamics? cLOUDDEAD? Hemispheres? The No Music? Those are the Dose records I loved or liked, I don’t see where the biting comes in. I like to think I have a solid grip on hip hop history but I’m honestly lost.

dose one sounds like he had a goose with its wings clipped and legs broken shoved down his throat, i’ll give him props for being on the deep puddle dynamics album, but thats just for tricking the others into letting him on it, i haven’t listened to clouddead, hemispheres, the no music, why? but thats cause every song i have heard with dose one on it was instantly ruined by his donald duck style, i didn’t think peace was all that bad, but that rappin fast shit got old real quick, unless you can change it up and switch styles, since i lived in LA for a few years, i like all the project blowed stuff, i met ab rude once and hes a dick, but i’ve seen eyedea in concert, and have heard plenty of his music, and hes on some other shit, stop lovin the hype and start lovin the music

Wooow. It’s a battle. Settle down. Getting under the other person’s skin is the purpose.
For how sick FF is, PEACE is not a battler. I’m surprised, by watching the Scribble footage, that he made it as far as he did. I my opinion, he made it that far mostly by reputation and stage presence, not due to much else.
In terms of biting, for real, I think it comes down to the music you listen to growing up. Hell, if being inspired by the music you listen to is biting then everyone is one. It’s what pushes people to create their own style. If Eyedea is a biter, Peace is a biter. Obviously, not by Bone Thugs. Those fools were definately mooching off a style besides the one they found.
As for Dose, I think a lot of people need to get off the whole idea that hip hop needs to be a certain way. If you don’t like someone’s music, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t good artists. There are a lot of artists that are doing new things and a lot that aren’t. I’m over uninspired dead end lyrics talking about an artist soapboxing about how much doper they are than everyone else. Dose One is pretty weird, but at least he’s original.

Once i wuz strolling thru Melrose, went into workemens, saw this dood freestyling, realized it was P.E.A.C.E., thought to myself, if i bust.. this foo will flip out (cuz im a female who could actually spit).. dood, i swear, that dood kept shit going on a high octave non-stop.. non-stop. yo nooon-stop. i wuz like: bang! that’s why he’s PEACE. no way would i interrupt the dood, that wuz profound history right in front of my eyes, a true legend, one of the members (FF) that Bone Thugs went to blowed to bite off so they can blow up ignorant greedy low-life clowns.
Met peace n’ all them cats actually, they grew up around sum of the toughest gangs in LA, you expect them to be all, “hey john, how you doing? grey poupon n’ shit. these doods are legends, chilled and evolved around sum of the finest. you want them to notice u, and give u a compliment, give ‘em something to respond to u about.. spit something nice. they will respond, human. u dont know nothing about street cred dude, no easy props man.
*So when i seen this battle, i got a first-reaction laugh at eyedeas line, bc i’m a battle mc. but moments after, i wuz also upset. the point is this is a Hip Hop Jam,,, just like the BBoy Summits and Freestyle Sessions where bboys battle it out and pay homage to all those who came before them. they even have panels to teach the youth so that there are no blurry lines. This is not acceptable. All for one moment, but now that whole crowd leaves thinking, Peace is just som random joe frum LA, and Bones Thugs are this great group that came before hip hop(or sum scary fairytale). So all in all, this is wrong. as an emcee, i would have never put someone down like this (esp those whom came b4 me) just to win a battle. thats just outright SELFISH and UNJUSTIFIED.
