RSSVideo: Jay Electronica – “Google Eyes” (Live)
The only Jay that matters anymore (with respect to Jay Rock and uh Jazzy Jay) goes in on that infamous Pacewon/”Shady Blues” loop. The great thing about Jay Electronica is how he’s taken the opposite approach to the blog circuit carpet bombers by not releasing anything at all. We’ve gotten, what, three full, finished tracks in the last two years? This creates a purer buzz, a kind of tape trading buzz from another era. He’s on some Ras Kass demo tape type buzz. Fans might not ever hear a completed version of this track, but trust that this lo-fi live rip will sit in their itunes forever. Incredible song title, too. It further confirms my theory that Jay E was born to collaborate with Lil B. (via Rap Radar)

I would be surprised if he ever has an album. I’m waiting on his well shot and intentioned but ultimately exploitative world traveler film Nomad’s Land. I am imagining Belly era Hype Williams directing a video for Graceland era Paul Simon.

@noz – those clips in that jay e video you posted a while back were from the film he’s making then? is it meant to be a documentary then or just a travel film w/dude traveling around on some Westerner-goes-East business? cos as interesting & unique as I dude is I can’t imagine the latter being very good. the track is great, tho.
that Pacewon joint also is great, I’m always up for Outsidaz-related posts. My favorite old CB-feature by a wide margin is that Outsidaz week from back in like 2005.
