Let Me Spell It Out For You

Slick Rick – “Sleazy Gynecologist
Slick Rick – “Feels Like (Nutty Professor)

from Ricky D Lost Tracks 12″ (White Label, 19??)

Unreleased Ricky D bangers need no introduction. These two come from one of those ambigious no point of origin white labels (complete with delightfully engrish spelling). “Sleazy Gynecologist” finds Rick playing both the titular role, the patient and her jealous husband. “Nutty Professor” is a more meandering story track with some none the less hillarious moments. Based on the sound, “Gynacorogist” was probably recorded around The Art of Storytelling sessions and the other joint sounds much earlier than that.

It’s a shame that his ongoing battles with the INS have (presumably) kept him from recording. Of all the rappers from his era, Rick is probably the best suited to make a modern comeback. Storytelling was pretty damn great all things considered, and his persona is timeless.

Sorry for the grit and grime on the mp3s, you know how we do.

Just thought I’d let you know the links are switched, Gynecologist leads to Feels Like, and vice versa.

    Great stuff to have tho.

No-and I do not do this for leisure/Although it may appear an unusual procedure

Rick is truly in a class by himself. He is above rap. New joints from him would truly be a gift to hip-hop.

    Noz,

All the recent updates have been much appreciated. After the UGK fallout, you’ve saved Christmas.

According to Rick he just doesn’t want to rap because he doesn’t think there’s a market for people of his age rapping about more mature subjects. I thought this was a bit rich considering his last album contained a track detailing the ways he sneaks it into girls’ poogatches when they don’t want him to.
Regardless, we love you Ricky and you need to make more music.

  6. Christmas came early this year – thanks for these tracks.
