Not Yet Dead

One Gud Cide – “Game Of Life”
from Look What The Streets Made (Scarred 4 Life, 1995)
One Gud Cide – “Bad Dreams“
One Gud Cide – “Systemized”
from Contradictions (Scarred 4 Life, 1999)
Last week Ft. Worth rapper Twisted Black, formerly one half of One Gud Cide, was sentenced to life in jail for a fourth offense cocaine conspiracy charge. The album cover pictured is an actual photo of Black after being shot in the face more than a decade ago.
Not being all that familar with Black’s case, I’m not going to sit here and scream for his freedom, but I will say that he was an incredibly talented rapper and it’s unfortunate that he will no longer be able to record. I believe he’s still set to drop his third solo album on TVT in the new year.

I think the fact that he’s getting life for a non-violent charge is enough to scream about.

I used to live next door to Black… I can’t believe he’s locked up. He gave me a copy of “Look what the streets made” when I was really young. I still have it and listen to it today.
