Ghetto Boys – “Be Down“
from Be Down 12″ (Rap-A-Lot, 1988)
Not to seem like I’m needlessly obssessing over this song, but it’s worth noting that Pimp C interpolates the first few bars from the non album Ghetto Boys single “Be Down” in his verse. (Although he unfortunately omits the land of truth.) “Be Down” features the second incarnation of the Ghetto Boys that would be featured on their debut record, Makin’ Trouble – DJ Ready Red, Prince Johnny C, Jukebox and the then dancer Little (Bushwick) Billy.
The record opens with a shout to Harry-O and closes with a call to start snitchin’.
On an unrelated note, I’m selling my painkillerz on ebay – lots of rare CDs up in my ebay store. Schoolly D, Rappin’ Ron & Ant Diddly Dog, and lots of local rap albums that you can listen to. Bid away, children.
