Alfamega Appreciation Post
Alfamega f/ Busta Rhymes – “Headbanger“
Alfamega – “G Code“
from I Am Alfamega (Grand Hustle, Unreleased/2009)
Alfamega f/ Gucci Mane – “Dopeman Phonenumber”
from The Beginning And The End (Unreleased? 200?)
While Cocaineblunts.com certainly does not condone the act of telling on your people to reduce your own sentence, this is a music blog. It’s about rapping, not gossip or hood politics. And Alfa can/could rap well. He is/was an old school head bust goon spitter, a scarcity in this era of low testosterone skinny jeans hip hop. On record, a man amongst children. It’s unfortunate that his career will be permanently derailed by his choices.
I Am Alfamega sampler available Imeem. Videos for “Uh Huh”, “My Window” and “Hurt” after the jump.

Yeah, you’re right, if there’s one thing hip hop is lacking, it’s testosterone.
Seriously, I am bummed about this Alfamega thing tho.

no one wants to believe it, but everyone seems too care. this really sucks though man. i wrote his bio, so i got to hear his album. i was impressed, too bad most of the good stuff will never see the light of day.

Yeah it’s a shame. I was looking forward to him coming out..
I’m sick of the obsession with street cred in hip hop but Alfamega’s whole image was based on being a real G so he’s bound by that.

I’m a latecomer to the whole issue. Did dude actually get dropped by P$C for this or are we just talking about the fact that he’s got as little street cred as Officer Rawse (which makes a successful future in the biz unlikely)?

IMHO it’s sort of cowardly for TI to act like the offense is not in the snitching but in the nondisclosure of the snitching. As if you need to disclose past snitching on a job application. Of course Clifford is still trying to shake the stench of his own legal troubles so he doesn’t want to go on record perpetuating stop snitching hysteria by kicking a snitch out of his entourage. Instead he just does so implicitly. This approach is bullshit and maybe less integrous than actually snitching on your man. If you’re going to carry the g code over into a professional environment at least have the sack to own up to your motives.

well, i dont know bout yalls hood, but i can tell you bout oakland, and gangsters, and what gangster do and what gangsters listen to
none of the answers have anything to do with rappers who are sposedly hard. round here they lisnin to local rappers mixtapes, or they listen to classic 90s raps, or they lisnin to r and b. nobody, NO body, thinks some rapper on the PR trail is hard. or should be checked for. or has street cred that they are in danger of losing. people round here dont care bout rick rawse thing, or have ever listened to him, our commercial station (kmel) doesnt even get listened to at all. its mad boring to me that they still pretend like these mtv rappers are dangerous or something. or that they have a code of the streets that has like, dignity in it or something. i could box the fuck out ti, btw, that dude is such a lame. back in the day i was a club dj, top 40 all that, they mailed me tis first album. you should check it out. its practically a blooper reel.
uhhh what im sayin is, if you like him still, listen to him, cause aint no gangsterism involved.
