Droop-E & B-Slimm – “Think Fast“
unreleased (Droop-E.com, 2006/2008)
That 2006 is now a throwback is a particularly discomforting reality. Sick Wid It youngest in charge Droop-E just christened his new blog with “Think Fast,” a previously unheard track originally recorded for his B-Slimm’s ‘06 debut The Fedi Fetcher and the Money Stretcher.
That album remains something of a minor personal classic around these parts with the duo spitting just the stupidest high school assembly diversion punchlines – “i’m the reason your girlfriends loose / like an eight year old’s tooth;” “balling like spalding;” etc. – over Droop’s spaceships colliding production. Droop and Slimm have a running theme of absurd and demeaning sexual exploits and “Think Fast” continues in that tradition as they threaten to smack slow thinking bitches with wads of cash. Your enjoyment of this shit might hinge on your tolerance for this particular brand of ignorance.
And shout to Droop for bringing attention to this nasty Soulja Boy track (seriously).

the link to the soulja boy video is the best thing about his site so far. holy shit the song goes so hard. that beat is just brutal, and dude actually rhymes pretty decently on it. can someone rip the audio from the video?

Way to grow young’n. SB is the underdog right now, even in all of his grandiose Rich Nigga Shit. I couldn’t help but cringe at all of the criticism he received from the Hip Hop Gatekeepers. What would Bambataa do? I couldn’t even imagine (and I don’t think they could either) what it is like to be born in the 1990.

This just made me realize how amazing it this that 40 Water still makes such great music (ok, the latest album wasn´t the greatest, but hey…)after rapping for longer than I´ve lived. I mean Droop-E is in his early twenties or something?

at least theyre being RELATIVELY nice with their misogyny/ignorance: i would prefer to be slapped with a wad of cash instead of a backhand any day, purely for aesthetic value
and it must be something to do with the recession when budget-ass rappers like SB start making credible tracks…

LOL, fucking amazing concept!! I wish the Big Tymers were still together and that this idea/hook had been pitched to them, they would’ve done amazing things with it. Droop is a dope producer, but this ain’t one of his better tracks, definitely sounds like an out-take.
Speaking of the bay though, have you ever done an Andre Nickatina/Dre Dog post? I’ve been listening to LOADS of his shit lately, and dude has got to have one of the most consistent/unique discographies in rap.. I don’t think I’ve heard any records by him that I haven’t liked at least a little. He’s a character too, in interviews he basically denies having any sort of creative process or putting any thought into anything, ever (”I’m a rap cat man, I just go in the studio and rap and that’s it”). So yeah, interesting career to say the least. Also bizarre is how the song he’s most known for, “Ayo For Yayo”, is really just a San Quinn song with Nicky on the hook, but he blew up off of it and not Quinn. The fuck?

Who? Oh, and I finally listened to Look At Me Now, and… shit was way too Pac-influenced for me, and I don’t like all the double time. Not anywhere near his stuff on RAL in my opinion.

That Soulja Boy thing he put up is better than what he usually does, but that ain’t sayin much. It ain’t like he’s suddenly Chamillionare or somethin’, settle down…
I like that “Think Fast”. That shit’s funny to me. Those two work on it, they could do for disrespecting bitches (as Federation put it) what Clipse currently doing for coke rap.
