Vid reminds me that LeVar Burton had too much to do with my childhood, tho I missed this Rainbow episode and his space-show. Inspires nostalgia – but not guilty-nostalgia that sees its naivete too clearly.
Tho I am not a reader/writer professionally, I thank mr Burton for his earnestness and the inspired aloofness he foisted on me and many others. Returning to the post, I’d like to thank Run, D.M.C. & JaMaJay (RIP) for basically the same, though I don’t flow for flow either.
All involved prize the word as a good in itself. The book-dance-armfold-fadeout thing was unconvincing, but I do believe that there is some common ground in actualizing the power of language.
Can only hope.
